Hey everybody! So like I said, I'm only posting once a day now so I'll try to remember the events of yesterday. Got unloaded about 10:30 and drove to Longview and got unloaded there. However, I got confused about who's dock was who's. See, Hobby Lobby shares 1 big building with Mardel's and, since Hobby owns Mardel's and I've delivered to Mardel's, I assumed they shared the dock. Nope. But I didn't find that out until after I backed up to it. Backing around a tight corner is difficult enough, but doing it while trying to dodge a parking lot full of cars is challenging! (That's when you REALLY notice how big your truck is!)
So upon setting myself up for the turn, I had to back over a small curb and when that happened, "POW!!", I accidentally popped one of my outside dual tires on my trailer. I sliced the sidewall with a curb that, upon inspection, was very pointy. So I find out that the dock is around back, (duh), and go behind the building only to find that the area back there is extremely tight and I end up doing, what I call, "semi oragamy" in order to turn around and back to the dock.
Okay, so I'm empty and drive to a suggested tire shop and get my tire replaced and then drive over to a place called Gen Pak where they make styrofoam containers and trays. (like "to-go" boxes at restaraunts). I'm loaded nose-to-tail and only weigh 7800 lbs which I like because I can maintain speed on hills and stuff.
So that's yesterday and I'm not going out today. Apparently there are no worthwhile loads so, hopefully, I'll go out tomorrow. Trucking is like a box of chocolates...you never know what you're gonna get.
